This Privacy Policy applies to all users of ChatKOOL (accessible at chatkool.org) — a student community platform dedicated to college and university students in the Philippines. We collect only what is necessary to provide you with the best possible ChatKOOL experience. Here is what we may collect:

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: Full name, email address, password (encrypted), profile photo, university name, course, and year level.
  • Student Verification: Student ID or school email address used to verify your enrollment status.
  • Profile Content: Bio, interests, skills, and any other information you voluntarily add to your profile.
  • Communications: Messages, posts, comments, forum discussions, and any content you create on the platform.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, screen resolution, and language preferences.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on the platform, and click patterns to improve user experience.
  • IP Address: Used for security purposes, fraud prevention, and approximate geographic location (country/region level only).
  • Cookies & Similar Technologies: Session tokens, preferences, and analytics data. See Section 6 for full cookie details.

C. Information We Do NOT Collect

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.

Children’s Privacy

ChatKOOL is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older (college and university students). We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor without parental consent, we will delete it immediately.

International Data Transfers

ChatKOOL is based in the Philippines and primarily serves Philippine students. If any data is processed outside the Philippines (e.g., by cloud service providers), we ensure adequate data protection safeguards are in place.
